Sanbashi Gorge, stretching approximately 1.3 km from Tosen Bridge to Shimokubo Dam, is a beautiful valley that has been designated a national scenic spot and natural monument. The landscape created by the Sanbashi Gorge's gigantic and oddly shaped rocks and the surrounding trees is truly a work of art created by nature. Each of the 48 gigantic and oddly shaped rocks, known as the "Sanbashi 48 Stones," has a name.

The forest is used for forest recreation, forest education, and other purposes as a place to enjoy and learn.
